Local Return Warehouses

The return address
Amazon requires you to have.

In the country you sell in, one per marketplace, set up in a day. Without it Amazon issues no prepaid label - and without that label, no return closes on its own.

WHY

What Amazon does with your returns when there is no local address.

Amazon has built an automated process for returns. The way into it is a return address in the country you sell in. Without one you are not moving through that process more slowly - you are outside it.

No local address, no prepaid label

Amazon generates return labels through carriers inside each country. If your return address sits outside it, there is no label for Amazon to issue. Everything else hangs off that one setting.

The refund waits for the parcel

Refund at First Scan applies only to returns sent on Amazon's own prepaid label. Self-shipped returns are excluded. Instead of closing at the first carrier scan, the return stays open until the parcel reaches you.

Your customer fronts the postage

Without a prepaid label, the buyer gets one they have to pay for themselves. They queue at the post office, pay, and then claim the money back from you. Every return turns into a case someone works by hand.

Under 25 euros, Amazon decides

For items under 25 euros, Amazon has required a return address in the country of sale since October 2021, one per marketplace. Without it, Amazon issues a returnless refund on its own. The goods stay with the buyer.

HOW IT WORKS

Six steps. And you are live.

  1. 1

    Sign up with reLogics

Set up your merchant account and confirm the address of your destination warehouse.

  2. 2

Add the warehouse address in Seller Central

As your default return address, one per marketplace. Amazon generates the prepaid labels from it after that.

  3. 3

    Activate the marketplace connection

Order and return data flow in automatically.

  4. 4

    Customers return to local addresses

National labels, local drop-off, parcels reach the warehouse in 1-3 days.

  5. 5

    Grading, automatic refund, full visibility

The warehouse inspects and grades every item and the refund triggers automatically. Every return and every item stays traceable in the merchant portal.

  6. 6

Consolidated shipment back to your warehouse

Returns ship to your destination country in consolidated batches. Items can be liquidated or disposed of locally where it makes sense (damage or economics).

LOCAL CARRIERS

Best-of-breed local carriers.
We negotiate the rates.
You keep the savings.

Your customers return through the carriers they already know... and the ones marketplaces actually allow. We negotiate volume rates with each local hero, so returns clear faster and cost far less than booking a cross-border carrier yourself.

Volume rates, negotiated for you

We pool returns across many sellers and bargain with each local carrier. That saves up to 50 percent against the rates you would get alone.

Only marketplace-approved carriers

Marketplaces define which carriers are allowed for returns. The warehouse uses exactly those, so every return stays compliant.

The carriers that keep refunds automatic

Amazon only refunds at first scan on its own prepaid label with a supported carrier. We give you that exact setup, out of the box.

FAQ

Questions Amazon sellers ask.

What happens if we do not respond fast enough?

Amazon's A-to-z Guarantee applies when, after a return request, you do not provide a return address in the buyer's country, a prepaid international label, or a full refund without return within 48 hours. A local address on file satisfies that condition permanently - you no longer decide case by case within two days.

Does it matter where our own company is based?

No. Amazon looks at the return address on file for each marketplace, not at where your business is registered. A seller in Poland selling on Amazon.de needs the same setup as a seller in Germany.

Is one address enough for all marketplaces?

No. Amazon requires a default return address per marketplace. If you sell on Amazon.de and Amazon.fr, you need two.

We already offer returnless refunds. Is that not enough?

It does meet Amazon's requirement - and it means paying for every affected return in full without getting the goods back. A local address is the alternative that does not cost you again on every single case.

What changes in our Seller Central?

One line per marketplace: the default return address. No integration, no development work.

Do you accept dangerous goods, for example items containing batteries?

In principle yes, but not without talking first. We agree quantities, classification and storage requirements with you up front, and after that you know exactly what is possible. Amazon requires these items to ship individually anyway, and in some cases through specialised carriers.

We use FBA. Is this for us?

This page covers seller-fulfilled orders. Get in touch anyway: with FBA, Amazon handles customer returns for you, but returning unsellable stock stays open. We use the same six warehouses for that.

Does the address requirement also apply above 25 euros?

The explicit requirement names items up to 25 euros. Above that there is no rule - but no difference in the process either: without a local address there is no prepaid label, and without a prepaid label no automatic refund.
